The following Advanced Studies options are offered at Barron Collier High School.
AICE - University of Cambridge
The Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), is an internationally recognized program that emphasizes the value of broad and stimulating curriculum of Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS Level). It offers students the ability to gain an in-depth understanding of subjects that suit their specific passions and interests while developing the tools necessary to succeed in college-level classes. This program is recognized internationally and prepares students for college. Students can earn college credit and potentially earn the AICE Diploma.
The AICE program offers courses and examinations during grades 10-12 leading to an international Diploma and potential college credits. AICE courses carry a quality point, meaning that when calculating GPA, an AICE course gives the student a higher GPA value than a regular course or an honors course.

Advanced Placement (AP)
The College Board Advanced Placement (AP) courses are rigorous, college-level classes in a variety of subjects that give students an opportunity to gain the skills and experience colleges recognize.
AP Capstone Diploma Option
Students pursuing AP Capstone Diploma must take Seminar and Research PLUS receive a 3 or higher on at least 4 additional AP exams.
- AP Seminar - offered during junior year. Consists of learning research and presentation skills and mini projects to develop these skills.
- AP Research - offered during senior year. Consists of taking those skills developed in AP Seminar and expand them into a full research paper and presentation.
Dual Enrollment (DE)
Florida Gulf Coast University Collegiate High School
Florida Gulf Coast University Accelerated Collegiate Experience is an early admissions program for highly motivated and exceptionally qualified 11th and 12th grade high school students. This special program allows students to attend FGCU as a fulltime university student. Collegiate High School students complete high school graduation requirements while simultaneously earning college credit.
Minimum Criteria:
- Currently in 10th or 11th grade
- Meet minimum GPAs: weighted 3.7 and unweighted 3.0
- Attain minimum test scores on either the SAT or ACT
- SAT: 1100 total score and 500 on each subset
- ACT 22 composite score and 20 on each subset

Florida Southwestern State College Dual Enrollment Program
The Dual Enrollment program offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn credit towards both high school graduation and college. Courses are offered on the college campus or on the campus of the various participating public high schools. Readiness for this program is determined through an examination of the student's high school GPA and scores earned on the ACT-E, SAT-R or FCELPT.
